Ketchup and Mustard!

Good Morning Lovelies!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, mine was really great. We had a great time celebrating my friends birthday, and the Oilers had a fantastic game to finish off the season. I'm obviously dissapointed they didn't make the playoff's but watching them cream Vancouver 7-2 was pretty fantastic. And now I have to wait until June for football season to start!

This is what I wore for a nice long Duke walk on a pretty nice day this past week, most of the snow is melted now and soon the grass is going to start turning green, I'm pretty excited! Since the snow's melting it's definitely rubber boot season, time to splash in puddles! For this walk Mr.Duke and I matched with his red hoodie and my little red dress. This dress is wonderful, it's perfect for a night out, but also worked for a more casual look layered with my denim jacket and moustache scarf! How cute is this print by the way?!

Happy Birthday Momma D

Just wanted to pop in here and wish a very happy birthday to my Momma, she puts up with 3 absolutely RIDICULOUS and obnoxious children and her patience baffles me. Especially when you get the 3 of us together our conversations often devolve to base humour involving bodily functions which she does not find amusing. She does put up with us and supports each of us as best possible and is a saint for having let me stay at home as long as I have (my dad does share that too).

When The Musics Over

Hey Lovelies!! It's time friday, the weather's nice and it's time for the weeekend! I for one am pretty excited, I have a weekend full of plans with some of my wonderful pals. My one friend is up from Calgary for her birthday, it's the international beer fest, and I'm taking one of my lovely ladies to the hockey game Saturday night. Whoo-whoooo!

I must admit, I was pretty bummed to have to send this floral blazer back to Jessi, it's kind of perfect and now I'm on the lookout for one just like it! Keep your eyes peeled for me ladies (and gents?) although I'm on a shopping ban and couldn't afford to buy it even if I found it. Alas, I enjoyed wearing it while I had it. I decided to pair it with this sparkly gold skirt and a ton of gold jewellery for work this week.

And of course bright orange nails, the polish is from Urban Outfitters ;)

Dazed and Confused

Hey There my darlings!! I hope your weeks are coming along nicely, is it the weekend yet?! I can't wait, and it's only wednesday morning...Oh no! But I am excited for my next day off, these photos are from my last day off which I spent on my best friends patio eating AMAZING homemade flatbread pizza's and drinking grapefruit flavoured beer. So tasty and it was basically the perfect afternoon.

I couldn't resist the print on this dress when I saw it at Zara, it's so colourful and springy! It's super light and really comfortable, I think it's going to make the perfect piece for really hot summer days (if that ever happens...) I decided to pair it with my denim jacket for a cooler spring day and of course my neon purse. Since this dress has basically every colour in the rainbow it goes with everything!

The Windy City

Good Morning Loves!! I hope your weekend was excellent, mine was pretty good, spent some time with some awesome friends, worked out and worked. In case you couldn't tell I really do like to keep myself busy, I hate sitting around with nothing to do. But every now and then one needs to rest and Saturday afternoon/evening after I worked out I decided I needed to give my body a break. I laid in my bed watching Community and it was exactly what I needed!
It has been unreasonably windy here all last week and this weekend, and I absolutely hate when it's windy, it makes it difficult to walk the pup and frustruating to take outfit pictures. Half the shots I took this day had my hair in my face or my skirt swirling up towards my waist. Not in a Marilyn Monroe way either. But we made due because I really loved this look. This dress is so perfect for spring/summer, no sleeves, polka dotted and with the perfect amount of fit n flare. Pairing black and white with blush seemed like a no brainer!

Oh and Mr.Duke is just too much of a cutie not to share, hope his adorable mug makes your monday a little better ;)

Urban Walls

Hey There loves, I hope you all are having a wonderful and relaxing sunday! I was contacted a while back by Urban Walls asking if I'd like to do a reveiw on one of their wall decals and I absolutely jumped at the opportunity. I love the idea of wall decals, they're a great way to decorate a room without having to paint and are super easy to apply. I lack patience and even I couldn't screw it up. I chose this chalk decal because I have always wanted a chalkboard wall. Being able to write a little quote or your to do list on the wall in chalk is awesome!

I put the decal right by the bottom of my stairs so that on my way up I can make sure I remember everything on my to do list etc. Right off the bat I decided to draw a little Mr.Duke and a quote from the song Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero's! I'm not really into inspirational quotes or anything like that but there are certain lyrics from songs that I really love and always put me in a good mood like this one. I definitely plan on moving out with Mr.Duke in the next year and you can bet I will decorate my new place in decals like this, such an easy, inexpensive way to spice up your walls without drastic changes or loosing your damage deposit ;)

Transition Season

Hey There loves, I hope your week is coming along quite nicely! I am pleased to report the temperature here has gotten above zero, which means snow is melting and long Duke walks are increasing in length and frequency!! Mr. Duke is quite pleased about this weather, except that it means he is one super dirty pup.

As the weather gets better, I am clearing out my closet of winter things and bringing in spring and summer pieces. It's always super exciting to switch seasons in the wardrobe, after months of brown and black and neutrals I am so excited to infuse some colour into my life! I picked up this dress last year from H&M and still love it. It's got a rorschach-like print which the Psychology major in me loves. It's a great simple summer dress for those days when it's nice and hot, but layered with tights, boots and my favourite blazer it works well for the transitional season as well. I couldn't resist pairing it with my bright green thrift clutch for a pop of colour

Minty Fresh

Good Morning Loves, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was really good, lots of fun with friends at the waterpark and then margarita making shananigans. I know I probably say this all the time, but I have really kickass, hilarious, ridiculously awesome friends. We are the weirdest and most lovable group of misfits ever.

I picked up this dress at winner's last week, I couldn't resist it's minty colour and the fact that its lace (I know, I know, I own about a million lace dresses). But as of this moment I am on a shopping ban for the next month or so, I have a spring course coming up and paying for that is going to be tough. And really, I don't need more clothes, I'm just a horrible shopping addict! There, I admitted it, that's the first step right?! However I am glad I picked this beauty up, it's got a bit of a low back and will be perfect in the summer, besides I don't really own a lot in this colour. I decided to pair it casually with my denim jacket, rubber boots and a pop of neon for a walk with Mr.Duke. I loved this dressed down version a lot, and am so happy to be able to bust out my denim jacket
